What Causes Wrinkles?
The vertical frown line is caused by the repetitive creasing of the skin when the Corrugator Supercilious muscle running along the eyebrow contracts during the facial express of a squint or frown. This wrinkling in the glabellar area is associated with anger, anxiety and sadness, all negative emotions.

How Does Botox® or Dysport Work?
It weakens or paralyses the muscle and hence reduce the crease. A tiny injection of a paralysing agent, Botox® or Dysport, is placed in the belly of the muscle and within the following week and for the next 3-4 months, the ability to crease the skin at the frown line is diminished.

How Often Should Treatment Take Place?
After four or more treatments the length of time between treatments increases as each session appears to be cumulative. It may be that this treatment allows you to lose or unlearn the urge to frown and recently it has been suggested that after several treatments there may be some permanent effect.

IPL or Intense Pulsed Light uses various light frequencies to target pigmentation in the hair. We use the top of the line Luminex IPL machine in our clinic which is a highly powered machine offering great results. We have very experienced therapists who specialize in IPL. If you are comparing prices for IPL services, it is important to understand that a lesser quality machine may be cheaper in price, but you may well require more treatments so it may not be cheaper in the long run.

Permanent Hair Reduction: The light output from the applicator is preferentially absorbed by the melanin (color) in the hair. This then heats up the hair follicle and disables the hair germination cells so it cannot grow back. Most clients require 4-6 treatments, usually 4 weeks apart as hair grows in cycles. Each cycle IPL deals to the hair that is present at that time, so it can vary between individuals. An annual maintenance treatment is sometimes required.
This is permanent hair reduction. While it is more expensive initially than waxing, once you have had your course of treatments you will only need the occasional maintenance treatment.

When shooting, the intense pulse light is directed at the melanin, the pigment contained in, among other things, the hair. After the treatment, virtually all the visible hairs (except white or red hairs) in the treated area then fall out in approximately twenty days.

The sessions are rapid, virtually painless and the results are 2 to 3 times more durable than a properly conducted wax treatment. Over the number of sessions, the number of hairs diminishes. The remaining hairs thin and their growth becomes slower and slower. Progressively, unsightly hairs in the treated area disappear. After this, only a maintenance session from time to time is necessary depending on the needs of the individual.
